MDPLS Library Cards

Did you know that you can access information from encyclopedias, newspapers, magazines and more, on-line with a library card?

Library cards are free and can be applied for by students with a parent's signature. Log on to mdpls.org or visit your nearest local library to get your card.

We would like all students in grades 1-5 to apply for a library card so that you can access these resources at home and at school.

Miami-Dade Public Library System

Choose the Library Catalog to find books, audiobooks, movies & more. You can request an item to be sent to your nearest library or even (for a fee) directly to your home.

Choose Databases & More to begin research online. First enter your library card number. Then scroll to the topic heading that you are looking for. There are sections for Children's Resources K-8, a section just for Science, and even for Music. Remember to adjust your keywords to help your search. If you are finding too many resources, use more words. If you are finding too few resources, use less words. Find another way to say it - use synonyms. Use the advanced search to adjust your options.

Florida Electronic Library - Also, a great place that you can use your library card to help you with your research.
